1.2 These Terms apply to all use of the website and related online services, including browsing content, viewing directories, creating accounts, accessing member areas or dashboards, saving favourites, submitting brands, and subscribing to the newsletter.
1.3 Additional terms may apply for specific services or features and will be presented where relevant (for example, at checkout for any paid services or in separate product agreements). In case of conflict, specific terms override these general Terms for the affected service.
Purpose of the website
2.1 European Craftsmanship is an editorial and directory platform focusing on European fashion, beauty and home brands. It aims to offer curated information, inspiration and discovery tools for professional and enthusiast audiences.
2.2 The platform does not sell third-party goods directly. Purchases of products from listed brands occur on third-party websites under the terms and privacy policies of those brands. European Craftsmanship is not a party to those sales contracts.
User eligibility
3.1 The website may be used by individuals and organisations who have the legal capacity to enter into agreements under applicable law.
3.2 Where member accounts, dashboards or other professional features are offered, they are intended primarily for business users (for example brands, buyers, and professionals). Users must ensure that any use on behalf of an organisation is authorised and in line with that organisation’s policies.
Accounts and access
4.1 Users may need to create an account to access certain features (such as member areas, brand dashboards or favourites). Account registration requires accurate and complete information and a valid email address.
4.2 Users are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activities conducted under their account. Any suspected unauthorised use should be reported promptly.
4.3 European Craftsmanship reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts, restrict access or remove content where necessary to protect the platform, comply with legal requirements, or respond to misuse of services.
Directory content and brand information
5.1 Directory listings, brand profiles and editorial content are compiled with care from publicly available information and information provided by the brands themselves, but are provided for general information only. Information may change over time and may not always be complete, current or error-free.
5.2 Brands and third parties may be invited to submit or correct information. Where such contributions are used, the contributor is responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the information submitted.
5.3 European Craftsmanship reserves the right to edit, format, highlight, deprioritise, or remove directory entries, profiles or related content at its discretion, for example to maintain curation standards or comply with legal obligations.
Brand submissions, suggestions and feedback
6.1 Users may submit brands, suggestions, corrections or feedback through forms or email. By sending such information, users confirm that they have the right to share it and that it does not infringe the rights of others or contain unlawful content.
6.2 European Craftsmanship is not obliged to publish or act on every submission or suggestion. Decisions about inclusion, presentation and categorisation of brands are editorial and may be made in the platform’s sole discretion.
6.3 By submitting content for publication (for example brand information, texts, photographs, logos or product images), the submitter grants European Craftsmanship a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit, display and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the platform, including in brand profiles, directory listings, editorial content and newsletters. The submitter confirms they hold the necessary rights to grant this licence. The licence ends when the content is removed from the platform, except for archival copies and content already contained in published editions of the newsletter.
User content and acceptable use
7.1 Where users are able to submit content (for example reviews, comments, descriptions or uploads), the following rules apply:
- Content must be lawful, accurate to the best of the user’s knowledge, and respectful.
- Content must not infringe intellectual property rights, privacy rights or other rights.
- Content must not be defamatory, discriminatory, hateful or otherwise harmful.
7.2 Users must not:
- Misuse the website, attempt to circumvent security, or interfere with its proper functioning.
- Use automated means to access, scrape or index the site in ways that exceed normal usage or breach technical measures.
- Use the site to send unsolicited communications or spam.
7.3 European Craftsmanship may remove or edit user content, block access or take other appropriate measures where content or behaviour is reasonably believed to breach these Terms or applicable law.
Intellectual property
8.1 The website, including its design, layout, text, graphics and curated structure, is protected by intellectual property rights. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8.2 Users may use the website and its content for personal or professional viewing and internal research, but may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from substantial parts of the content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
8.3 Brand names, product names and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Their presence in the directory does not grant any licence beyond what is necessary to view information on the site.
Affiliate links and external websites
9.1 Some outbound links are affiliate links. This means European Craftsmanship may receive a commission if a user clicks a link and later makes a purchase on a third-party site. For the full account of how this works, see the Affiliate Disclosure.
9.2 External sites are not controlled by European Craftsmanship. Terms, privacy policies and practices on those sites are determined by their operators. European Craftsmanship is not responsible for third-party sites and does not guarantee the content, products, or services offered there.
9.3 Users are encouraged to review the terms and privacy policies of external websites before engaging in transactions or providing personal data.
9.4 At the time each external link was placed, no unlawful content was identifiable on the linked pages. European Craftsmanship has no influence over the current and future design or content of linked sites. Upon becoming aware of a legal violation on a linked page, the affected link will be removed promptly.
Availability and changes
10.1 European Craftsmanship aims to keep the website available and up to date but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, technical issues or external events may affect access.
10.2 Features, content, structure and services may be changed, expanded, reduced or discontinued at any time. Where changes are material, reasonable efforts will be made to provide notice to affected users, for example via the website or email.
Disclaimers
11.1 Information on the website is provided for general information and inspiration only. It does not constitute legal, financial, tax or professional advice. Users should seek appropriate professional advice where needed before making decisions.
11.2 European Craftsmanship does not guarantee that brands or products described on the site will meet a user’s needs or expectations, nor that any particular outcome will result from using the directory or content.
11.3 Editorial content on the website, including brand reviews, verdicts, ratings, comparisons and recommendations, reflects the personal professional opinion of Lisa Walter as operator of European Craftsmanship. These assessments are value judgements formed independently against the published review criteria. They are not statements of fact unless a specific fact is expressly stated and attributed to a source.
11.4 Editorial content is prepared with care, but no warranty is given that it is complete, current or free of errors at all times. Substantiated notifications of factual errors are reviewed and, where confirmed, corrected promptly and transparently.
Liability
12.1 European Craftsmanship will be liable for damages only where required by applicable law. In particular, nothing in these Terms limits liability:
- For intent or gross negligence.
- For injury to life, body or health caused by negligence.
- Where mandatory statutory liability applies (for example under German Product Liability law, if relevant).
12.2 Subject to these limits, and to the extent permitted by law, European Craftsmanship will not be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages, such as lost profits or loss of business opportunities arising from use of the site.
- Damages resulting from external websites, third-party products, or decisions taken based on information from the site.
12.3 The website is provided “as is” and “as available” subject to legal requirements. No assurances are given about availability, performance or suitability beyond what is required by law.
12.4 For paid services provided to business customers (for example Verified or Partner listings), and to the extent permitted by law, the total liability of European Craftsmanship under or in connection with the respective service is limited to the fees paid by the customer for that service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply in the cases listed in clause 12.1.
Indemnity
13.1 Users agree, to the extent permitted by law, to indemnify European Craftsmanship against claims arising from unlawful use of the site or breach of these Terms, where the claim is caused by the user’s actions.
Privacy
14.1 The processing of personal data is described in the separate Privacy Policy, which should be read together with these Terms.
14.2 By using the website, users acknowledge the Privacy Policy and, where required, provide consent through appropriate mechanisms, such as consent banners or form notices.
Changes to the Terms
15.1 These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, services, or legal requirements. The current version and last-updated date will be shown on this page.
15.2 Material changes will be communicated where appropriate, for example by notice on the website or by email to affected account holders. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms and any disputes arising from or related to use of the website are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply under other laws.
16.2 Where permitted by law, the competent courts in Germany shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the website.
