The White Ribbon designs bridal and everyday ballet flats in Berlin, including styles with interchangeable ribbons and ankle straps. Its shoes are handmade in small batches in Budapest, Hungary, using mostly surplus leather and fabric from the Italian luxury fashion industry.

“At The White Ribbon, we pride ourselves on being an all-female team. From main designer Dori to production leader Judit, product designer Kati, shoemakers Bea & Edit as well as graphic designer Kristin and photographer Szaffi, we are all women. Even our marketing team is all-female. Why does it matter that our team of shoemakers are women? Well, despite the fact that women are the target demographic for around 50% of the market, the shoe industry is still largely male-dominated. Yet for us, it’s only common sense that women understand best what women prefer to wear.”
