After graduating from the prestigious design school, Polimoda, Frederikke worked for several luxury brands before returning to Copenhagen where she developed her unique sole and started her own brand of comfortable high heels. Comfortable heels exist
If comfortable shoes with a heel are what you are after, Roccamore is a brand I would point you to. Founder Frederikke Schmidt developed her own insole together with an orthopaedic shoemaker, aiming to bring comfort and design together. Their shoes are handmade in Italy and Portugal, in family-owned factories.
I really like the behind-the-scene videos and pictures on their website. You get a look into the world of Roccamore and the people making the shoes. My one small wish would be a fuller materials guide. Their Planet page already explains vegetable tanning and LWG certification, but I would love an overview of all the leathers and materials they use, explaining their differences and where each is used.
I own the Maya sandal in Lemon White, and I really love it. I can walk in them for a long time without my feet hurting. That’s why I would recommend taking a look if you love wearing heels but find comfort hard to come by.
