“We, the Waldviertler shoe workshop, have now been around for over 40 years. Hallelujah. We started in 1984 with about ten people. Established shoe manufacturers were taking bets on how quickly we would go out of business. Back then, with our ten employees, we were Austria’s smallest operating shoe factory. The big ones employed a thousand people, one even had two thousand. Today, more than thirty years later, with around sixty people working in our leather workshops, we are among the largest in Austria.”
