“We are a couple brought together by a shared passion for shoes, a healthy lifestyle and good design. Out of this mix came our brand: barefoot shoes with character. The idea for PIKOBARE matured in our minds for more than a year, and it grew out of personal experience. Klaudia has been walking in barefoot shoes for several years; at first it was hard to get used to zero drop, but over time it became natural. We noticed, however, that on longer walks over hard, concrete surfaces a little cushioning was missing. That is why we created PIKOBARE: barefoot shoes with a thicker insole and a flexible sole, which let the feet work naturally while giving more comfort in everyday walking on hard ground.”
