Material sourcing and origin
- Leather, sourced exclusively from LWG certified tanneries in Italy, Spain, Portugal and France.
- Some smooth leathers for leather goods are vegetable-tanned using plant tannins.
- Suede, nubuck and patent leathers across the range, with a care guide published per material.
- Rubber soles are 70% recycled rubber and 30% natural hevea, made with the supplier Bolflex.
- Acetate for the Ancône bags and Firenze chains is made by hand in Italy.

Sustainability and longevity
- Short-circuit production: materials from local or nearby suppliers, logistics centre integrated in the brand's own Portuguese factory.
- Packaging made from paper from sustainably managed, FSC-certified forests.
- Donations to the reforestation association A Tree for You matched by the brand since 2019, with 87.305€ given and over 10.000 trees.
- Two charity sales a year, with 487.818€ given to partner associations over the years.
- Per-material care guide published. No in-house repair or take-back programme stated.

Bobbies owns its workshop, and shows you the work that happens inside it.
Bobbies runs its own atelier in Santa Maria da Feira and names the steps that happen inside it, from pattern making and hand-cutting to the hand-painted edges, over two hundred to a single pair. That is what I love, when you can learn how the products are made. The natural next step, and the thing I’d most like to see, is that same specificity on the product pages: which workshop and which tannery made the pair in front of you, plus a short page on the people who started the brand. On what they publish, Bobbies is open about how its shoes are made.
